Intel: gets up to $7.86bn for semiconductors

(CercleFinance.com) - Intel Corporation announces funding of up to $7.
86bn from the US Department of Commerce under the CHIPS Act, a law passed in August 2022 in the US to strengthen domestic semiconductor manufacturing and stimulate science and technology research.

The grant will support advanced semiconductor manufacturing and packaging projects at its sites in Arizona, New Mexico, Ohio and Oregon.

Intel will also benefit from a 25% tax credit for investments in excess of $100bn.

Cutting-edge semiconductors are once again being manufactured on US soil, thanks to historic investments crucial to national security and economic growth, Intel said.

Since the enactment of the CHIPS Act, Intel has committed over $100bn in investments to expand manufacturing capacity and support thousands of jobs.
