Roche: slower growth ahead in 2025
(CercleFinance.com) - Swiss pharmaceuticals group Roche warned on Thursday that sales growth would slow this year, an announcement that resulted in its share price falling this morning in Zurich.
The Basel-based company said its sales would increase by around 5% ('mid single digit') at constant exchange rates in 2025, which is less than the 7% growth recorded last year.
Roche also said it was targeting basic EPS growth of 5% to 10% ('high single digit') at constant exchange rates in its new financial year.
In 2024, core earnings rose by 7% at constant exchange rates, and would have risen by 12% excluding the impact of the resolution of a tax dispute dating back to 2023.
Operating profit rose by 14% to 20.8bn CHF, slightly below the consensus of 20.9bn CHF.
The group says that it intends to increase its dividend to 9.70 CHF per share, which would correspond to the 38th consecutive year of coupon increases.
On the Zurich Stock Exchange, the share price was down 0.6% in early morning trading, while the SMI index of leading Swiss stocks was up by around 0.4%.
