
Sanofi: share buybacks from L'Oréal
(CercleFinance.com) - As part of its share buyback program unveiled on 30 January, Sanofi has announced the acquisition of 2.
3% of its shares from its long-standing shareholder L'Oréal, an operation which should be finalized in the next few days.
It will involve the acquisition of 29,556,650 shares at a unit price of E101.50, representing a 2.8% discount to the closing price on 31 January. This brings the total value of the transaction to E3bn.
The shares acquired will be cancelled by 29 April. The transaction is expected to be accretive to Sanofi's EPS, and excluding treasury shares, L'Oréal will hold 7.2% of the healthcare group, with 13.1% of the voting rights.
