
Amazon: Q4 EPS up 86%

e. EPS of $1.86, compared with just $1 a year earlier, as well as operating income up by almost 61% to $21.2bn. NB: in after-market trading -4%.
At $187.8bn, the technology giant's revenues rose by 10% (+11% excluding currency effects), with growth at AWS (+19%) clearly outstripping that of e-commerce activities in North America (+10%) and internationally (+8%).
The holiday season was Amazon's most successful to date, says CEO Andy Jassy, who also points to the launch of numerous innovations in its AWS cloud division, such as its new Trainium2 chip for artificial intelligence.
For Q1 2025, Amazon expects operating income of between $14bn and $18bn, compared with $15.3bn a year earlier, as well as revenues of between $151bn and $155.5bn, up 5% to 9% y-o-y.
