Volkswagen: closer collaboration with Canadian CGI
(CercleFinance.com) - On Monday Canadian technology group CGI announced that it has deepened its collaboration with the Volkswagen group through the launch of a subsidiary dedicated to the German carmaker's digital transformation projects.
The partners say that they have set up a new entity called 'Marv1n', which will serve as an international development unit for all the group's digital transformation projects in support of Volkswagen's developers.
With these additional resources, this aims to develop new software and IT systems more quickly and efficiently.
This announcement comes as the Volkswagen group works to modernise its IT ecosystem, aiming to replace hundreds of existing systems with fewer, but more powerful and scalable new developments across the company by 2026.
All of which is expected to speed up processes and reduce technology-related operating costs.
