BMW: electric motor produced in Steyr for the Neue Klasse

(CercleFinance.com) - BMW Group announces that its Steyr plant in Austria has shipped its first electric motor to the Debrecen plant in Hungary, where it will be used in Neue Klasse test vehicles.


Production of the sixth-generation electric motors began at Steyr three months ago, with the process still undergoing optimization.

This milestone marks a key step towards series production scheduled for 2025.

The Steyr plant, which employs 4,700 people, is the Group's largest engine production site, producing over a million combustion engines a year and hosting a research center for new propulsion systems.
