Thales: selected for drone traffic in Norway

(CercleFinance.com) - Thales announced Monday that it has been selected by airport operator Avinor to deploy a drone traffic management system for Norwegian airspace.


Under the terms of this strategic partnership, the French group will provide a digital platform for the automatic management of drone traffic and future unmanned advanced air mobility (AAM) solutions, alongside traditional aviation.

In particular, the system will enable air traffic management in the vicinity of airports and in metropolitan, suburban and regional areas.

In addition to flight compliance analysis, it will include authorization management, real-time decision-making, permanent sky surveillance, automatic conflict resolution and response capability.

The system will comply with current regulatory frameworks, starting with the implementing regulation put in place in this area by the European Commission.
