AMD: BofA downgrades its opinion to 'neutral

(CercleFinance.com) - Bank of America announced on Monday that it had downgraded its recommendation on AMD shares from 'buy' to 'neutral', with a price target reduced from $180 to $155.

In a note, the analyst said he was concerned both about competition from Nvidia in processors dedicated to AI and the current slowdown in the PC market.

In graphics cards (GPUs), BofA thus reduces its sales forecast for AMD for fiscal 2025 from $8.9 billion to $8 billion, compared with the current consensus target of $9.6 billion.

In its view, however, AMD could benefit from the restructuring underway at Intel to gain market share in PC processors.

Possible production and supply constraints at Nvidia could also benefit the chipmaker, adds BofA.
