Safran: EcoPulse completes flight test campaign

(CercleFinance.com) - Safran has announced that EcoPulse, the hybrid-electric propulsion aircraft demonstrator co-developed with Daher - a French industrial group specializing in the manufacture of components for the aerospace industry - and Airbus, has concluded its flight test campaign.


These tests have provided crucial information for achieving the decarbonization of air transport by 2050.

More concretely, this collaborative project has enabled us to gain unique experience in the design, certification, production and operation of hybrid-electric aircraft.

As a reminder, EcoPulse completed its first hybrid-electric test flight on November 29, 2023 from Tarbes airport.

This test campaign enabled us to test an unprecedented level of on-board electrical power for distributed electric propulsion, with a grid voltage of around 800 Volts DC and a power of 350 kilowatts.
