LightOn: Google's Bert algorithm modernized and optimized
(CercleFinance.com) - LightOn, a specialist in generative AI for the enterprise, gained ground on the Paris stock exchange on Friday following the launch of a new version of Bert, the search engine optimization algorithm developed by Google.
This 'modernized and optimized' version of the model designed by the Internet giant, called 'ModernBERT', is the fruit of collaboration with the Answer.AI in data processing and document database enhancement, says the company founded in 1996.
'ModernBERT is designed to meet the growing needs of companies for managing data dispersed in heterogeneous databases', says LightOn.
It combines increased performance and reduced latency, while optimizing internal workflows and controlling the costs associated with the use of language models', adds LightOn.
ModernBERT training was carried out on the Orange Cloud Avenue infrastructure, as part of a partnership with Orange Business and Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE).
Unlike large-scale language models (LLMs) such as GPT, which are often expensive and resource-hungry, ModernBERT is expected to offer a high-performance, cost-effective alternative for large-scale use cases.
Following these announcements, LightOn shares climbed 14% on Friday morning on the Paris Bourse, bringing to over 23% their gains since its IPO closed last month.
