Engie: wins 250 MW offshore wind project

(CercleFinance.com) - ENGIE has announced that, via Ocean Winds, its 50-50 joint venture with EDP Renewables dedicated to offshore wind power, it has won a 250 MW floating project from the French Ministry of Industry and Energy, as part of the AO6 call for tenders.


The project, named 'Eoliennes Flottantes d'Occitanie' (EFLO), will generate 1 TWh of renewable electricity per year, equivalent to the annual energy needs of 500,000 people.

This project will strengthen the offshore wind energy sector in France, in partnership with the Banque des Territoires.
