Neoen: construction of Arneburg Battery begins
(CercleFinance.com) - Neoen says it has instructed Nidec, a provider of battery-based energy storage solutions, to start construction work on Arneburg Battery, its first asset in Germany, in December 2024.
In line with its business model, the Group owns 100% of this energy storage unit and will operate it. With a capacity of 45 MW/90 MWh, Arneburg Battery will be located near Arneburg, in Saxony-Anhalt, and is scheduled for commissioning in 2026.
Established in Karlsruhe since 2023, Neoen is developing numerous battery projects in Germany, and has already built up a portfolio of projects totaling over 1 GW. It aims to become one of the country's leading storage players.
