UPS: takes over Germany's Frigo-Trans

(CercleFinance.com) - On Wednesday UPS announced that it had acquired Germany's Frigo-Trans and its sister company BPL, in a move to strengthen its position in the logistics transport of pharmaceutical products in Europe.


Initially announced in September, this acquisition will enable the US carrier to strengthen its fleet of temperature-controlled vehicles to meet the needs of the healthcare sector.

Frigo-Trans vehicles are designed to transport products at different temperature ranges, from cryopreservation (-196 degrees celsius) to ambient (between 15 and 25 degrees).

The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
