Alstom: overhaul contract in Canada
(CercleFinance.com) - Alstom has signed a new agreement with Metrolinx for the overhaul and modernization of 181 double-deck suburban train cars for GO Transit, the public transit service of the Greater Golden Horseshoe region in Canada.
The mid-life overhaul and upgrades of the Series VIII bi-level cars will start by 2026 at the Thunder Bay, Ontario site, and will secure around 250 highly skilled jobs until at least 2030.
This framework agreement is valued at around 500m CAD (around E340m), subject to final conditions. The contract is expected to be signed and booked in Q4 2024-25.
