Walmart: opens the new Bentonville campus

(CercleFinance.com) - Walmart announced on Friday the opening of its new campus, which will enable it to further strengthen its presence within its historic stronghold of Bentonville (Arkansas).


The project - dubbed 'New Home Office' - covers an area of over 1.4 km2, half of which is green space featuring 5,000 trees and 750,000 local plants.

The site features seven kilometers of bicycle paths, over 1,000 bicycle parking spaces, a bicycle rental system and 300 electric vehicle charging stations.

The complex, which makes the most of natural light, also boasts a crèche, a fitness club and a cafeteria offering 12 different restaurants.

The infrastructure is also home to a dozen or so shops, including a specialist cycle store, a brasserie, a juice bar, an outdoor sports boutique and a pharmacy.
