Eramet: CEO to step down from executive duties

(CercleFinance.com) - On Tuesday, Eramet announced its intention to separate the functions of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer after its AGM, to be held on 27 May, in the context of a change in its corporate governance.

This announcement comes as Christel Bories, Eramet's current CEO, informed the mining group's Board of Directors of her wish to continue her duties as Chairman, but to step down from her executive functions at the end of her current term of office.

At 61 and after eight years at the helm of Eramet, I feel the time has come to hand over my executive functions and refocus on my duties as Chairman, she explained.

The company's shareholders will be asked to renew her term as director at the AGM on 27 May, after which the Board plans to renew her term as Chair.

As the functions of Chair and CEO are set to be separated, Eramet says it has launched a selection process to identify its next CEO, whose name should be known by the end of Q1.

Since 2017, Christel Bories had led the group's strategic transformation, notably diversifying its activities into energy transition metals.

In the meantime, Eramet's share price has risen by more than 50%.

Following the announcement of her departure as CEO, the share shed more than 2% on Tuesday morning in early trading.
