Witbe: profitability target for 2024 abandoned

(CercleFinance.com) - Witbe, a specialist in the supervision of video service quality, announced last night that it had abandoned its target of a 'significantly positive' operating result in 2024 after posting annual sales below expectations.

Witbe generated consolidated sales of €22.3 million for the full year, down 5% on 2023.

In a press release, Witbe explains that it operated in a difficult economic environment in the second half of 2024, penalized by cost-cutting policies and waves of layoffs among broadcasters and tech players.

The company says it has also suffered from consolidation movements in the streaming industry, with the halting of the Venu Sports sports streaming platform project, and from the electoral and political context in the USA.

On the good news side, the company says it has pursued its strategy of deploying its automated video services supervision and testing offering among GAFAMs.

Due to late adjustments from certain customers and prospects, which impacted its sales, which came in below target, Witbe says it will not achieve its objective of "significantly positive" annual operating income for 2024.

Following these announcements, the share price fell by more than 25% at midday on Tuesday, posting by far the biggest drop on the Paris market.
