IBM partners with Telefónica on quantum cybersecurity

(CercleFinance.com) - Telefónica Tech, the digital unit of Spanish telecommunications group Telefónica, and IBM today announced a collaboration agreement to develop and offer security solutions to meet the challenges posed by future cryptographically significant quantum computers.


These solutions will integrate IBM's secure quantum technology and Telefónica Tech's cybersecurity expertise to protect enterprises and public administrations.

They will be based on the new cryptographic standards defined by NIST, the US National Institute of Standards and Technology.

The agreement also provides for the creation of a joint office to explore use cases, including communications encryption and securing critical environments.
