Diageo: to open a new plant in Alabama

(CercleFinance.com) - Diageo North America has announced plans to open a new manufacturing and warehousing facility in Montgomery, Alabama.


The 33,500 m2 facility will have an annual production capacity of several million cases for Diageo's leading alcoholic beverage brands.

'This site will enhance the company's North American supply chain operations and support the future growth of the company's export business' says management.

'The site's strategic location is expected to reduce the amount of road travel required, helping to significantly reduce carbon emissions associated with logistics operations.

The new facility will not only bring our business closer to our customers and distributors in the South, but will also enable our wider supply network to operate more efficiently and sustainably' said Marsha McIntosh, President of North American Sourcing at Diageo.
