Diageo: H1 net profit down 12%
(CercleFinance.com) - Diageo announced H1 2025 sales of $10.
9bn, i.e. from June to December 2024, flat overall (-1% reported, +1% organic). NB: cp -3.8%.
Operating income came to $3,155m, down 5% as reported, while net income, group share, was down 12% to $1,935m, giving EPS of 87.1 cents (-12%) and adjusted EPS of 97.7 cents (-10%).
We remain confident both in the sector's favourable long-term fundamentals and in our ability to outperform the market, the company says.
However, given the current macroeconomic and geopolitical uncertainty in several of our key markets, which is affecting the pace of recovery, we have withdrawn our medium-term organic net sales growth target of 5%-7%. Instead, we will provide more regular short-term forecasts and updates on the evolution of our business, Diageo concludes.
