Safran: framework agreement with DGA for land robotics

(CercleFinance.com) - The French defense procurement agency (Direction Générale de l'Armement - DGA) announced today that it has awarded the "DROIDE" framework agreement in the field of land robotics to manufacturers KNDS France and Safran Electronics & Defense on December 30, 2024.


This 7-year framework agreement will explore the technologies required to meet the capability needs of land robotics in the 2030-2035 timeframe.

Capability considerations include accelerating the use of remotely-operated vectors and broadening the spectrum of their missions, including on land.

The framework agreement aims to bring to maturity the key technologies required for land-based robotic platforms operating on the battlefield.

In support of dismounted combat, the land robot is intended to increase the capabilities of the combat group while limiting the exposure of soldiers.
