Bombardier: no 2025 targets yet because of Trump
(CercleFinance.com) - Bombardier announced on Thursday that it had posted a 'solid' financial performance in 2024 for the fourth year running, with revenues that exceeded its forecasts.
In a press release, the Canadian aerospace group said it had generated total revenues of $8.7 billion last year, up 8% on the previous year.
It also claims a total of 146 aircraft deliveries for the past fiscal year, compared with 138 deliveries in 2023.
Its order backlog increased by $200 million compared with 2023, reaching $14.4 billion at December 31, 2024.
Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) - an indicator of the company's ability to generate cash flow - meanwhile rose by 11% to $1.36 billion in 2024.
In its press release, Bombardier states that it closed the year with free cash flow generation of $232 million, in line with its expectations.
However, the group decided to postpone the presentation of its forecasts and objectives for 2025, following Donald Trump's introduction of an additional 25% tax on imports of Canadian products.
Following this announcement, Bombardier 'B' shares dropped nearly 4% in early trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange on Thursday.
