Boeing to quadruple its Asian fleet in 20 years
(CercleFinance.com) - Boeing estimates that its fleet of commercial airplanes in India and South Asia will nearly quadruple over the next 20 years.
According to the aircraft manufacturer, this expansion will be fueled by increased demand and a rise in regional air traffic, which will grow by more than 7% a year until 2043, driven by sustainable economic growth, improved connectivity and policies favoring air transport liberalization, according to Boeing's Commercial Market Outlook (CMO) forecast.
Boeing estimates that single-aisle aircraft, such as the 737 MAX, will account for almost 90% of deliveries, while the wide-body fleet will quadruple with the development of long-haul routes to North America.
The aircraft manufacturer also anticipates a five-fold increase in the air freight market, while demand for pilots, cabin crew and technicians will quadruple to 129,000.
