Continental: innovation in hydrogen engines

(CercleFinance.com) - Continental has announced the development of a cooling line for hydrogen powertrains in commercial vehicles, considerably reducing the penetration of ions into the circuit.


The synthetic rubber line is composed of a mixture of materials whose special properties make them less susceptible to leaching of ions from the line material.

Continental claims that ContiTech's materials experts have thus solved 'one of today's greatest challenges in the industrialization of this as yet uncommon alternative form of propulsion system'.

The innovation will extend the service life of vehicle components in hydrogen propulsion systems.
