Thales: contract with European Space Agency
(CercleFinance.com) - Thales Alenia Space, a joint venture between Thales (67%) and Leonardo (33%), has announced the signature of a contract with the European Space Agency for Component 2 of the HydRON project, aimed at designing and testing in orbit a global multi-orbital high-speed optical communications network.
This system, based on laser technology, will improve connectivity between satellites and with terrestrial networks. The project is supported by several European space agencies and is part of ESA's ScyLight program.
