Nokia: to improve Telefónica's network in Spain

(CercleFinance.com) - Telefónica, Spain's leading operator for business customers, has chosen Nokia's Packet Core solution to improve the scalability, capacity, performance and reliability of its 4G and 5G network for the country's business customers, while simplifying its network architecture .


Nokia Packet Core solutions will help Telefónica deploy low-latency services such as drone control, robotics and industrial applications, smart meters that enable real-time monitoring and billing for utility consumers, and other use cases for the operator's enterprise customers.

Telefónica and Nokia are already collaborating on many other network technologies, including 5G RAN, XGSPON, IP and optical transport, network analytics and network APIs.

Nokia Cloud Mobile Gateway will enable Telefonica to more efficiently manage and route user traffic for enterprises.

Erez Sverdlov, vice president, cloud and network services market manager for Europe at Nokia, said that beyond improving data capacity, latency and reliability, our core network will also enable local distribution of user traffic with our latest-generation devices, offering reduced latency and improved security.
