TotalEnergies: electrolyser projects with Air Liquide
(CercleFinance.com) - Air Liquide announces two large-scale electrolyser projects in collaboration with TotalEnergie, investments aimed at producing renewable, low-carbon hydrogen in Europe.
On the one hand, an ELYgator electrolyser with a capacity of 200 MW will recover electricity from two offshore wind farms, to meet the needs of TotalEnergies' industrial platform as well as those of other manufacturers and heavy mobility in Europe. In addition, the industrial gases supplier and the energy group are to set up a joint venture to develop a 250 MW electrolyser to supply the Zeeland refinery site in the Netherlands. Once completed, these two projects would represent a combined investment of over €1 billion and would make it possible to avoid up to 500,000 tonnes of CO2-equivalent emissions per year, reinforcing Air Liquide's positioning on decarbonization.
