Rio Tinto: Mitsui & Co to take 40% stake in RRJV

(CercleFinance.com) - Rio Tinto announces that Mitsui & Co.
has entered into agreements to acquire a 40% interest in the Rhodes Ridge Joint Venture (RRJV) from Rio Tinto's partners.

Mitsui & Co. will acquire VOC Group's (VOCG) entire 25% interest in the joint venture.

In addition, Mitsui & Co. has entered into a memorandum of understanding (HOA) to acquire an additional 15% interest in the RRJV from AMB Holdings Pty.

Mitsui & Co. and Rio Tinto are long-standing partners in the Robe River joint venture.

Rio Tinto's 50% interest in the RRJV joint venture and the terms of the joint venture agreements remain unchanged.

First ore from Rhodes Ridge is expected by 2030.
