Apple: new iPhone 16e not enthusiastically welcomed

(CercleFinance.com) - Apple unveiled a new iPhone on Wednesday, an updated and enhanced version of its latest iPhone 16 launched last September, an announcement that was timidly welcomed on the New York Stock Exchange.


This new device, the iPhone 16e, incorporates the performance of the A18 chip, Apple Intelligence AI features, including ChatGPT tools, and up to 12 hours more battery life than the iPhone SE, all at a bargain price.

The iPhone 16e will be available in black and white, with storage capacities of 128GB, 256GB and 512GB, starting at 719 euros.

By way of comparison, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus presented last September, available in ultramarine, teal, pink, bank and black, and with storage capacities of 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB, were priced from 969 and 1119 euros respectively.

The device, which will be available for pre-order from Friday February 21, will be available from Friday February 28 in 59 countries, including France.

On the New York Stock Exchange, Apple shares were unchanged late Wednesday morning, down 0.3%, as the launch of the new iPhone was widely expected in view of the slumping sales of the famous smartphone.

The Cupertino-based group saw iPhone sales fall by 1% to $69.1 billion in the three months to the end of December.
