Roche: expansion sequencing technology

(CercleFinance.com) - Roche unveils an exclusive and revolutionary Sequencing-by-Expansion (SBX) technology, which offers ultra-fast, high-throughput sequencing that is both flexible and scalable for a wide range of applications, the Swiss healthcare group says.


The technology represents, a quantum leap in next-generation sequencing (NGS), which plays a key role in decoding complex diseases such as cancer, immune disorders and neurodegenerative diseases, it adds.

Combined with an innovative high-throughput sensor module, SBX uses expanded synthetic molecules to determine the DNA sequence of a target molecule, creating an ultra-fast, scalable and flexible technology.

By reducing the time between sample and genome from days to hours, this new approach could significantly accelerate genomic research, as well as translational and clinical applications in the years to come.
