IBM: UK approval for HashiCorp acquisition

(CercleFinance.com) - The UK's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) says it has cleared IBM's acquisition of HashiCorp, a deal announced in April 2024 for an enterprise value of $6.
4 billion, following an investigation launched in late December.

IBM explained at the time that the deal would bring it 'a leading range of hybrid and multi-cloud lifecycle management products to help customers grapple with the growth and complexity of today's AI-based applications'.

It also pointed to HashiCorp's ability to generate significant synergies in several strategic growth areas for IBM, including Red Hat, watsonx, data security, IT automation and consulting.
