Eni: exclusive memorandum of understanding with Petronas in Malaysia
(CercleFinance.com) - Eni announces that it has signed an exclusive memorandum of understanding with Petronas to create a joint venture to oversee certain upstream assets in Indonesia and Malaysia.
This entity would bring together around 3 billion barrels of oil equivalent in reserves and up to a further 10 billion in exploration, targeting sustainable production of 500 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day. The focus will be on developing new gas projects to meet growing regional demand. The joint venture will retain existing operating structures and will seek to raise external financing.
