Thales: contract with Shift for eSIM cards
(CercleFinance.com) - Thales announced on Monday that its eSIM cards have been chosen to integrate the sustainable and ethical cell phones designed by German manufacturer Shift.
Unlike traditional eSIMs, which are soldered into the device, the technology developed by Thales will be offered in a removable format, allowing users to insert the module into their device, transforming it into an eSIM-compatible smartphone.
The eSIM cards supplied by Thales will be made from 100% recycled material, in this case plastic from broken refrigerators, in keeping with Shift's philosophy of marketing devices that are easy to repair and environmentally friendly.
